My Three Favorite Restaurants In Ocala, FL

One thing I love about Ocala, Florida, is the food scene. It seems there are always new restaurants popping up in the area. And while I do love trying these new places, there are a few favorites I find myself going back to time and time again. Each of the following three restaurants is equally unique, and I’m excited to share them with you today. (And if you happen to visit any of these places after you read this article, let me know what you think!)

Latinos Y Mas

Latinos Y Mas is a Latin fusion restaurant in the heart of Ocala serving up delicious dishes from Cuba, Mexico, and South America. The food here will blow your mind. Everything is delicious, from the warm chips and housemade salsa to the meaty Cuban sandwiches and flavorful burritos. There’s a reason why Latinos Y Mas has over 1,000 reviews and a nearly perfect rating on Google.

Another thing I love about Latinos Y Mas is the atmosphere. It’s an excellent place to bring the family or grab a drink after work. Kids eat free every Monday, and Happy Hour is every Monday through Thursday from 4-7 p.m.

Tony’s Sushi

Tony’s Sushi is—in my personal opinion—the best Japanese food in Ocala. Not only does it offer an extensive list of sushi options, but it also features a teppanyaki grill for those who want hibachi-style Japanese.

Because this place is a sushi bar and teppan grill all rolled into one, it’s perfect for a casual bite to eat or a special occasion. If you’re crunched for time, grab some sushi at the bar and head on your way. If you’re looking to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, reserve a spot at the grill, where the chefs will cook your food right in front of you.

No matter what you choose to do, you’ll never leave hungry. The portions are huge and delicious—a double win in my book. To top it all off, the staff always goes above and beyond to make your dining experience extra memorable.

Brick City Southern Kitchen & Whiskey Bar

Last, but certainly not least, is Brick City Southern Kitchen & Whiskey Bar. This is the place for all things Southern food—Kansas City burnt ends, Nashville hot chicken, Texas-style chili, and North Carolina pulled pork. They have it all! I love that Brick City Southern Kitchen & Whiskey Bar takes the best Southern foods from every state instead of just focusing on one particular style of Southern cuisine. You get a taste of the South without ever having to leave the city.

But wait…there’s more.

They even have an 11-page whiskey menu (yes, 11 pages!). This in-depth guide to whiskey breaks down everything, from its look, smell, and taste to its history and the evolution of how it became so popular. This truly is a whiskey (and BBQ) lover’s paradise. What more could you ask for?
